About Us
At Sending Hugs, we believe that everyone deserves to feel cared for, supported, and remembered—especially during life’s challenging moments. What started as a small act of kindness inside our family-owned restaurant in Guilford, Connecticut has grown into a mission-driven brand dedicated to spreading comfort, compassion, and connection across the country.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: To spread kindness and connection—one package at a time.
Every gift we create is thoughtfully curated, beautifully packaged, and sent with genuine care. We focus on items that comfort, encourage, and brighten someone’s day, whether they are recovering from illness, grieving a loss, celebrating a milestone, or simply needing emotional support.

Why We Do What We Do
We know how powerful a simple gesture can be. Sometimes a small act of kindness changes someone’s entire day—or their entire outlook. If our packages help someone feel supported, hopeful, or a little less alone, then we’ve accomplished our purpose.
Thank you for being here, supporting our small business, and helping us spread kindness in a world that needs it more than ever.
The Hugs Over Hate Story:
The Hugs over Hate campaign was started at KC's Restaurant in Guilford, CT. It was created after the Pulse Night Club shooting in Orlando Florida in 2016. Graphic designer Brittany Whiteman created the logo to raise money for the victims of the shooting.
Kelly Carney loved the logo and its message, so she put it on her employee shirts at her restaurant. She carried on with the message in honor her sister, Kaitlin Carney, who passed away in 2007 after loosing her battle with addiction. Kaitlin was kind, sincere, and always there for people. It is Hugs Over Hate's mission to celebrate Kaitlin's kindness and caring heart by giving back to organizations that promote love, understanding, unity, and spread kindness throughout communities.
